Get as much education and training as you can- it’s not enough for you to be pretty or “hot” you have to be smart! Beauty and brains makes the world rock! (My new catch phrase) Lol. No knowledge is a waste, this cannot be over emphasized, you do have to read, you do have to learn, basically you do have to KNOW, know a little about everything, and know a lot about at least something. And to achieve this, you have to get an education; formal or otherwise, learn a skill; singing, sewing, languages, fashion, cooking, decorating. Anything at all and God will bless the works of thy Hand!

Research Continue searching for more and more information that affects you and your desired career.

Learn interpersonal skills and how to communication- there’s no way you won’t come across people, when you not living in a cave, even then you’d meet animals. So it is important that you learn how to relate with your fellow humans. Develop good interpersonal skills, you could take a course on this

Plan your career-  you have to know what you want, what to want to do, where you want it, when you want it, how you want it, and most importantly how you plan to achieve it. Planning your career is more important for us babyokus, because our lives are filled with twists and turns, from wedding, to giving birth, raising a family etc. and on top of all that we have to have a career. So I’m sure you can see why it is paramount that we plan our career so as to know the benefits we expect to reap from it .it is also important to make your career plan flexible in order to accommodate family relocations, pregnancy etc. if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Write down in detail where you plan to be 10-15year from now and how best you can get there.

Network- meet people, get good contacts, attend as much seminars as you can, or you could narrow it down to the seminars that affect your line of business or your target market. This way, you can meet people that are relevant to your career path. One of the easiest ways to network is ONLINE, which is why you need to have an online presence, asides being on social media sites, you need to have a website visit http://www.freethewebng.com on how to get your website and training on how to use it. I know there’s an upcoming seminar on social media marketing by Ruwa Nigeria limited and no matter the field of business, you need to attend this seminar.

Find a mentor- No man is an island, you can’t achieve it all on your own, find someone that has attained success in the field your about to venture into and ask for guidance, ask him or her to be your mentor. A mentor is someone that will be committed to your future and would invest time and knowledge to ensure that you grow, and get to where you want to be. Unlike a normal business contact you have. Please note that your mentor is allowed to criticize you, but constructively, so don’t run away thinking he/she is being harsh. You will learn a lot from the experiences he/she shares with you. #findamentortoday

Build and project confidence- yes as a babyoku it’s cute when you’re shy sometimes! Not every time, you can’t expect your shyness to earn you money, when it’s not as if you’re running for the Miss cute pageant (if there’s anything like that). Like the Beyoncé song Rise up, so rise up! Be strong! Lol reach within and bring out your fierceness! You’re not a babyoku for nothing. Even in the bible, GOD said for I have not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, sound mind, and BOLDNESS!

Self-promote- Self promoting is very different from boasting, although there is a thin line, just like there’s a thin line between love and hate. So make sure people know about your skills, your expertise, and achievements, if you have a website, you could create a section for all this, so you could know if you’re making progress or you’re stagnant, in your accomplishments and skills. However you do it, keep yourself, your office and people outside your office updated on your progress, with a view to earning more not showing off.

Exposure – Expose yourself to new environments (could be in form of a new office, corporate environment etc.) talents, customers, contacts, competitors, as this will help you develop better managerial technical and planning skills. Exposure would teach you how to work under pressure as you would come across various kinds of people and situations. With the right amount of exposure and experience, it would be easier for you to achieve greatness.
